Full-fat quark with fresh fruit and granola: a perfect breakfast

Full-fat quark with fresh fruit and granola: a perfect breakfast for strength and recovery

As personal trainers in Eindhoven, we at Aurora Personal Training often get asked: “What’s the best thing to eat after my workout?” Or: “What’s a healthy, quick breakfast that fits my fitness goals?”
Our answer is often surprisingly simple and effective: full-fat quark with fresh fruit and granola.

Why full-fat quark with fresh fruit and granola

Full-fat quark is an excellent source of high-quality protein, fat, and calcium. While low-fat varieties are often chosen for their low fat content, full-fat quark offers greater satiety and is ideal if you want to build or maintain muscle mass. The fats also help stabilize blood sugar levels and keep you feeling full for longer.

Granola: crunch with substance

Preferably choose a sugar-free or homemade granola, rich in nuts, seeds, and whole grains. This provides:

  • Slow-release carbohydrates for energy
  • Healthy fats
  • Extra fiber

Note: Ready-made granolas often contain added sugars. Read the label or make your own.

The role of fresh fruit

Fruits like berries, bananas, apples, or kiwis not only add color and flavor to your breakfast, but also:

  • Fiber for healthy digestion
  • Vitamins and antioxidants that contribute to recovery
  • A natural source of carbohydrates, perfect for replenishing your energy stores after a workout
